NOTES: I have seen it argued that the Spencer did not come along until 1943, and, therefore, this model would have been called something else prior to that year. However, I have seen no evidence to support that theory, and we do have a very clear ad showing this model as the Spencer, and no ad showing it as anything else at any point in time.
