NOTES: This example differs from the ad shown below in that, unlike the ad, this watch is not engraved. However, the Martha Washington was offered with variations, as evidenced by the "D" variant designation shown in the ad. So, I'm assuming this example is simply a different variant. In all other respects, the watch appears identical to the ad. Further, we know that, during the mid-to-late-1930s, Bulova offered most watches with variations, including engraved and unengraved cases. In most instances, those variations did not affect the model name.
